The road to immigration law

Avalon didn't set out to spend her career in immigration law. An immigrant from Trinidad & Tobago, she went through the U.S. immigration system herself — and knows firsthand how much a person's future can hinge on a single government decision, and how much clarity matters when someone's next chapter is on the line.

Avalon didn’t set out to spend her career in immigration law. An immigrant from Trinidad & Tobago, she went through the U.S. immigration system herself — and knows firsthand how much a person’s future can hinge on a single government decision, and how much clarity matters when someone’s next chapter is on the line.

Before law, Avalon taught at a junior high school — an experience that still shapes her patient, client-focused approach. After earning her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago and joining the New York and Arizona bars in 2015, she built a practice across business and family immigration, and learned that the strongest cases come from listening closely enough to find the story only the client can tell.

In 2025, she was recognized among The National Black Lawyers Top 100. Today, Avalon leads every case personally, backed by a team of paralegals, drafters, and former USCIS reviewers — because she believes the person on the other side of the desk deserves to know exactly who is fighting for them.
